Turnip And Bacon Soup (Irish) Recipe

Ingredients:4 slices of bacon1 onion, chopped4 cloves garlic, minced1 pound turnips, peeled and cubed4 cups chicken broth1 cup heavy creamSalt and black pepper to tasteChopped fresh parsley for garnishDirections:In a large soup pot, cook the bacon over medium heat until crisp. Remove with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels.Add the onion and garlic to the bacon fat and cook until softened. Add the turnips and chicken broth and bring to a boil.Reduce the heat to low and simmer for 15 minutes. Add the heavy cream and salt and black pepper to taste.Garnish with chopped fresh parsley and serve.
