Cuete Mechado Recipe

?Cuete mechado is a traditional Puerto Rican dish that is made with pork that is stuffed with ham, cheese, and onions. The pork is then roasted and served with a variety of sides.

 1 kg (2.2 lbs.) of beef round
 4 thick slices of bacon
 1 carrot
 1 onion
 2 cloves of garlic
 ½ cup of vinegar
 and pepper

To dress the steak, make small incisions in the meat and insert pieces of carrot and bacon.

Fry the steak until golden on both sides. Add sufficient water and cook with the garlic, onion, vinegar, salt and pepper until the meat softens.

Once cooked and cooled, slice the meat into strips and serve it with a salad or cooked vegetables.
