?A damper recipe is a traditional Australian bread that is cooked in the coals of a campfire. It is a simple bread made with flour, water, salt, and baking powder. Damper is often served with butter or jam, and sometimes cheese.

 2 cups self raising flour
 ½ tsp salt
 1 1/2 cups milk

Sift the flour and salt into a bowl, add sufficient milk to make a manageable dough. Bake on greased and floured baking sheet 25 - 30 minutes at 220C (400F). Baste with milk during cooking. Serve with lashings of butter
