Mary’S Sugar Cookies ** (Soft Dough) Recipe

This recipe is for Mary's sugar cookies, which are soft and have a light, fluffy texture. The dough is made with butter, sugar, eggs, and flour, and is flavored with vanilla extract. The cookies are rolled in sugar and baked until they are golden brown.

 1 1/2 c SIFTED POWDERED SUGAR
 ½ ts ALMOND FLAVORING
 1 c BUTTER
 2 1/2 c FLOUR
 1 ea EGG
 1 ts SODA
 1 ts VANILLA
 1 ts CREAM OF TARTAR

MIX SUGAR AND BUTTER.

ADD EGG AND FLAVORINGS.

MIX THOROUGHLY.

MIX FLOURSODA AND CREAM OF TARTAR.

MIX INTO SUGAR MIXTURE.

REFRIGERATE FOR 2 TO 3HOURS.

HEAT OVEN TO 375 F.

DIVIDE DOUGH IN HALF AND ROLL TO A THICKNESSOF 3/16 ON A FLOURED SURFACE.

CUT WITH COOKIE CUTTER TO DESIRED SHAPE.

PLACE ON LIGHTLY GREASED COOKIE SHEETS.
