Rice Pilaf Recipe

There is no one definitive rice pilaf recipe, as this dish can be made using a variety of different ingredients and methods. However, most rice pilaf recipes will call for rice to be cooked in broth, with various spices and vegetables added for flavor. Some recipes may also include meat or seafood.

 ½ c Sliced Fresh Mushrooms
 ¼ ea Med. Bell Pepper
 2 ea Green Onions, Sliced
 ¼ ts Salt
 1 tb Butter Or Margarine
 ¼ ts Dried Sage, Crushed
  c Water
 2 ts Snipped Parsley
  c Regular Long Grain Rice

Bell peppers can be any color, but should be cut into 1-inch juliennestrips.

~In a 1-quart casserole micro-cook mushrooms, onion and butter ormargarine, uncovered, on 100% power for 1 1/2 to 2 1/2 minutes or tillvegetables are tender.

Stir in water, rice, bell pepper strips, salt, andsage.

Micro-cook, covered, on 100% power for 2 to 3 minutes or tillboiling.

micro-cook, covered, on 50% power for 14 to 16 minutes or tillrice is tender and liquid is absorbed, stirring once.

Stir in parsley.

Let stand, covered, for 5 minutes.
