?Shrimp scampi is a classic Italian recipe that typically features shrimp sauteed in garlic, white wine, and butter. It can be served over pasta, rice, or vegetables.

 1 lb (.5 kg). shrimp peeled and cleaned
 6 lg garlic cloves sliced
 ½ stick butter (less is ok if you're watching you diet)
 4 tbsp (60 ml). olive oil
 ½ cup (125 ml) white wine
 1 tsp (5 ml).garlic powder (I use a lot but to your taste)
 1 tsp (5 ml). Italian herb seasoning
 and pepper to taste
 1 cup (225 ml) long grain rice uncooked

Cook rice according to package instructions.

Brown garlic in oil in large frying pan add the butter.

Add the shrimp and toss around the pan.

Add white wine and spices.

Turn heat to low. (shrimp cook really fast-don't overcook!!

Taste test; if you need more flavor sprinkle on more garlic powder.

Serve over rice with green salad and crusty loaf of Italian bread.
