There is no one definitive answer to this question as there are many different ways to make date bread. However, one popular recipe calls for mixing together self-rising flour, sugar, chopped dates, and beer. The bread is then baked in a loaf pan until it is golden brown.
Remove tops from beer cans with can opener; lightly oil insides.
Sprinklesoda on dates.
Heat beer to boiling and pour over date/soda mixture; setaside to cool.
Cream together butter, maple syrup, vanilla, and eggs.
Stirin flour.
Add nuts and cooled date mixture.
Spoon batter into cans,filling only 1/2 full.
Bake with cans standing up on cookie sheet, at 350degrees for 15-30 minutes; look for tops to split and test for doneness.
Donot cut bread for 1 day; bread may break up, if it is sliced while stillwarm.
