There is no one definitive recipe for Millbrook meatloaf. Some recipes call for ground beef, pork, veal, or a combination thereof, while others include breadcrumbs, eggs, and/or milk as binders. Many recipes also call for sautéed onions and/or other vegetables to be mixed into the meatloaf mixture.

 1 ts SALT
 1 ea ONION CHOPPED
 ½ ts CELERY SALT
 2 lb GROUND BEEF
 ½ ts PAPRIKA
 2 c MILLBROOK BREAD CRUMBS
 ¼ ts PEPPER
 1 tb BUTTER
 2 x EGGS
 2 tb SHORTENING
 1 c MILK

CHOP PEPPER AND ONION AND SAUTE IN SHORTENING FOR 5 MINUTES.

COMBINE MEAT,EGGS, SPICES, BREAD CRUMBS AND MILK IN A LARGE BOWL.

BLEND IN SAUTEEDMIXTURE.

PACK LIGHTLY INTO A 9 X 5 BREAD PAN LINED WITH FOIL OR CELLOFANEWRAP.

TURN OUT ONTO SHALLOW BAKING DISH.

TAKE OFF WRAP OR FOIL AND BAKEFOR 1 HOUR.

HINT: FOR ADDED FLAVOR, PLACE A FEW STRIPS OF BACON ON TOPWHILE BAKING.

ALSO DRIBBLE CATSUP OR BARBEQUE SAUCE ON TOP BEFORE BAKING.

BAKE AT 350 DEG F.

FOR 1 HOUR OR UNTIL DONE.
