Moravian Scotch Cakes Recipe

RatingDifficultyIntermediate

There is no one definitive Moravian Scotch Cake recipe. The ingredients and methods of preparation can vary somewhat, but the basic concept is the same: a dense, cake-like cookie made with wheat flour, sugar, butter, eggs, and spices. These cookies are often flavoured with lemon or orange, and sometimes raisins or currants are added to the dough. Moravian Scotch Cakes are typically baked in small, round moulds and then dusted with confectioners' sugar before serving.
