?Southern Style Spareribs is a recipe that involves cooking pork spareribs in a slow cooker with a variety of different seasonings. This dish is typically served with a side of rice and beans, and can also be served with cornbread.

 2 1/2 to 3 pounds spareribs
 salt
 black pepper
 paprika
 1 lemon, thinly sliced
 Sauce
  cup onions, chopped
  cup tomato ketchup
 ¼ cup brown sugar
 ¼ cup cider vinegar
 1 teaspoon mustard powder
 ½ teaspoon Tabasco sauce

1. Arrange the spareribs, meaty side up, in a foil-lined shallow baking pan.

2. Sprinkle with salt, pepper and paprika. Place sliced lemon over top.

3. Bake ribs at 400 degrees for about 20 minutes.

4. In the meantime, combine ingredients for basting sauce in a saucepan.

5. Bring to a boil. Turn heat down and simmer over low heat for 5 minutes.

6. Reduce oven temperature to 325 degrees.

7. Brush ribs with half the sauce, baste on both sides.

8. Bake at 325 degrees for about 1 hour or until ribs are done. Turn them at least once during cooking time and baste frequently with remaining sauce.

9. Cut ribs into serving pieces. Serve with corn on the cob and crusty bread.
