Waffles (With Variations) (Quick) Recipe1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour3 tablespoons sugar1 tablespoon baking powder1/2 teaspoon salt1 1/2 cups milk1/2 cup butter -- melted2 eggsMix flour, sugar, baking powder and salt in medium bowl. Add milk, butter and eggs; beat just until smooth.For Belgium Waffles: Use 2 cups flour, 1/4 cup sugar, 2 teaspoons baking powder and 1 teaspoon salt.For Blueberry Waffles: Stir 1 cup fresh or frozen blueberries into batter.For Cranberry Waffles: Stir 1 cup fresh or frozen cranberries into batter.For Chocolate Waffles: Stir 1/3 cup baking cocoa into batter.For Cinnamon Waffles: Stir 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon into batter.For Orange Waffles: Stir 1 teaspoon grated orange peel into batter.For Pumpkin Waffles: Substitute 1 cup canned pumpkin for milk. In a mixing bowl, combine flour, baking powder and salt.
In another bowlbeat egg yolks slightly.
Add milk and oil and beat until mixed.
Add yolkmixture to flour mixture all at once.
Stir just until combined.
In a small bowl, beat egg whites until stiff peaks form.
Gently fold intoflour mixture.
DO NOT OVER MIX!Pour 1/2 cup mixture into preheated waffle maker and cook according tomanufacturers instructions.
When done lift waffle out of maker with afork.
Makes 5 or 6 waffles.
EASY WAFFLES: Prepare as above but do not separate eggs.
In a bowl beatwhole eggs slightly.
Beat in milk and oil.
Add to flour mixture and stirslightly.
CHOCOLATE WAFFLES: Prepare as above, but reduce flour to 1 1/2 cups andadd 1/3 cup cocoa and 1/3 cup sugar to the flour mix.
Add 1 ts vanilla tothe egg mix.
CINNAMON WAFFLES: Prepare as above but add 1/2 ts cinnamon to the flourmixture.
BUTTERMILK WAFFLES: Prepare as above but subsitute 2 cups buttermilk forregular milk.
NOTE: Bake for 2 1/2 minutes in betty crocker waffle baker.
