Minnesota Cabbage Rolls Recipe

Minnesota Cabbage Rolls are a traditional dish made with cabbage leaves, ground beef, and rice. The rolls are then baked in a tomato sauce.

 1 lb Ground beef
 ¼ lb Ground pork
 2 ts Salt
 ½ ts Pepper
 ¾ c Cooked rice
 1 Onion, minced
 16 oz Tomato sauce
 12 lg Cabbage leaves
 ¼ c Brown sugar
 ¼ c Lemon juice or vinegar

Combine meat, salt, pepper, rice, onion and half tomato sauce.

Covercabbage leaves with boiling water for 4 minutes.

Drain.

Place portions ofmeat mixture in center of each cabbage leaf.

Roll up, folding ends over.

Place seam down in skillet.

Mix remaining tomato sauce with brown sugar andlemon juice.

Pour over rolls.

Simmer covered, 1 to 1 1/2 hours.
