This is a traditional recipe for green beans and bacon. The beans are cooked in a bacon fat, and then bacon is added to the dish for flavor. This dish is often served with a side of cornbread or biscuits.
1 c String beans
1 x plus:
1 x Liquid
2 ea Med Potato, diced
¼ lb Bacon, diced
¼ ts Salt
1 ea Sm Onion
1 c Water

Can use fresh string beans, substituting equivalent amount for the canned.

Cut potatoes into 1/2 inch dice.

Brown the bacon and combine with the otheringredients and cook about 30 minutes until potatoes are soft.
